Hello,

I don't know why, but when I back up D:\Documents and Settings\ppilat.SDZ\Application Data\Mozilla\ directory, Cobian backup always backs up also my EXCLUDED directory D:\Documents and Settings\ppilat.SDZ\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\t95knqyx.default\Cache\*.*
This only happens in ZIP and only for this directory (as far as I have explored). When I only COPY (no compression) the Mozilla directory, the "cache" directory is empty but it is there (while it shouldn't).

I think you understand that I don't want to backup up the cache dir, as there are only temporary files in it and it changes everytime I browse web.

Can you please anyone try this with Mozilla dir in your profile and drop a line?

I have version 7.1.0.278

Hello!

I don't use Mozilla or firefox or any of those browsers, but I seem to remember that a solution to this problem was found sometime ago in this forum.

I have read those posts. The weird thing is that this happens when Firefox is not running, so all those files in its profile should be just dead files...

But even if it was running while Cobian Backup is trying to do its job, I don't want to backup any of those cache files - I want to EXCLUDE them.

Might Cobian Backup have some troubles with long paths? Or more than 3 characters in directory name's extension? Just guessing...

Hello!

Have you tried this?

When backing up your Firefox profile, exclude the following:

XUL.mfl
_CACHE*
Cache\*d01
parent.lock

Yeah, I have and it works. Actually, there are still 4 files in the cache dir, which keep changing and are copied every time (about 8 MB). But it's better than 36 MB.
Does anyone know what is wrong with this "cache" directory so that Cobian Backup is not able to exclude it?
Ok, Luis, I'm not gonna bother you any longer with this damned dir. I think you have enough other work to do... :-)

Thank you for your replies and for this awsome program!

And now I have eliminated also those few files (8 MB). So for anyone, the exclusion list for Firefox profile is:

XUL.mfl
Cache\_CACHE*
Cache\*d01
parent.lock

For those who don't know where all this lie. In my computer it is on path D:\Documents and Settings\ppilat.SDZ\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\t95knqyx.default\
